PROGRAMS

SUMMER HOUSE LEAGUE

CBS Soccer offers a summer only program called 'House League' where players as young as two and as old as fourteen can take part in a community based recreational program with two sessions per week. This program welcomes participants of all skill levels and abilities.  Under 11 and younger divisions have an 'equal time' format with a goal to have balanced teams.  When teams on any night are not balanced based on play and score, for that night only, players will be moved to ensure all players have the opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer in a supportive and inclusive space. Play takes place at a number of fields throughout the Town and divided into the following:

This league emphasizes physical fitness, the development of fundamental soccer skills, equal playing time, sportsmanship, teamwork and creating positive, lasting,
memories. As a player, coach or referee, House League is where the journey begins.

METRO LEAGUE

Metro League is the next step up from House League.  It is for players who are looking for a more developmental and competitive environment. Teams from Under 7, Under 8, Under 9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 from CBS take part in league play on weekends (2 to 3 games) in areas throughout the Northeast Avalon with the possibility of games in Conception Bay North.  No scores or standings are kept in U7 - U13. Practices aside from games take place during the week or on weekends when play is not scheduled. Training for the Metro League is available year round.  Schedules and locations are determined in the Spring. While fun is still a priority, the commitment level is higher than house league.

Registration for this league with CBS Soccer does not require extra payment for House League.  Metro League website can be found on this link - METRO LEAGUE.

LIGHTHOUSE & COMPASS LEAGUE

The 2026 league season for the Under 12 and Under 13 age groups will feature a two-tiered structure designed to promote player development through flexible team rosters and appropriately competitive environments. Both the higher-tier Lighthouse League and the lower-tier Compass League will focus on player development, with the Lighthouse League being for players who are currently at a higher level of player development.  A unique monthly roster reset system will allow clubs to move players between teams to ensure each player is challenged at the right level for their individual development. Scores will be kept during league play, but will not be published publicly.  These scores are used to create the most competitive groupings for the Rising Start Tournament held in late August.

PREMIER & CHAMPIONSHIP YOUTH LEAGUE

The Premier and Championship Youth League is the highest level of youth soccer competition in the province and is the next step after the Lighthouse/Compass League.  It is organized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) and brings together top teams from across Newfoundland and Labrador to compete in a structured, high performance environment.  Teams compete at Under 15 (2011/2012) and Under 17 (2009/2010). League play takes place throughout the summer beginning in late May and ending by Labour Day Weekend.  Games are scheduled throughout the week and on weekends (usually approx. 15 games per season).

Year-round training develops skills, fitness, and teamwork, while spring and summer league play challenges players against the best in the province. These programs provide a pathway to provincial teams, Canada Games, and university soccer, all while fostering sportsmanship, community values, and memorable experiences both on and off the field.
